How much torque can a stock 722.3 handle with only increased line pressure?

So about 300lb/ft, not bad. Thanks.

Hi,
Yes the 722.3 is significally stronger than the 722.1.
Actually, the designation W4A040 tells us that the maximum input torque is 40 kpm and 40 kpm corresponds to 289,32 lbf*ft, to be exact.
There is also some 722.3 models with W4A028 designation used with G-models, there the maximum input torque is 28 kpm, don't know why there is these "weaker" models also.
I can dig up the "weaker" ones in the afternoon if someone is interested. I recall they where something 722.39x, but I cannot guarantee that my memory is exact.

Well, here are some W4A028:

How about the manuals and stock clutch? Specifically the iron case 4-speed used with the 240D and euro 300D models prior to 83. The VIN decoder shows "00 808119".
There are performance clutches available so it's capacity is not a problem. My stock clutch has no problem holding 200lb-ft @ 2100rpm at the wheels without slipping.
