Looking for informations about 250td,300td in w124 and w201

Hi!

I'm looking for informations about tuning 250td and 300td engines in w124 and w201 chassis. How much power and torque can they produce with bigger pump, bigger turbo, ic, exhaust, and gauges but with stock engine? It would be a daily use car

From what I've seen, 400hp (700+ ft-lbs) is pretty easy with the OM606. This would require a turbo diesel pump with mechanical govenor, bigger plungers/barrels inside the injection pump (7mm), bigger turbo, and free flowing intake/exhaust.

These engines can handle 40psi on a regular basis, but you shouldn't need that much boost if the turbo flows well.

What I haven't been able to figure out is how well the automatic and manual transmissions/clutches stand up to the power. There are more than a few folks in Europe with modified automatics in 'superturbo' cars, but there aren't many people here in the US that know how to do anything to the Mercedes automatics other than rebuilding back to OEM specs.

Here in the US, the OM606 was available in the E300 turbodiesel in '98 and '99 only. The non-turbo versions can be used, but you need to swap out the pistons, etc.
