An HX40 is far too big for an OM606. Even on engines twice the displacement its known to be a dog spooling up. It might be fine for the drag strip or race track where you're flogging the piss out of the engine, but on the street you'll have performance little better than that of a non-turbo engine. ...

A K03 on a 2.3L? That turbo is already small for a 1.8L engine. You need something closer to a T3-60 to keep up with your engine.

A 309D is powered by an OM617, the later 310D used the OM602. Well, we tried it and the idle went to crap and EGTs went through the roof but there was a huge jump in power.

The idle would have torn up the mounts in no time and it was terrible as a daily driver so I went back to the stock delivery valves.

What several of us 617 guys (me included) are going to try is removing the collar entirely since it is already very thin as-is.

Do any of the Finns mess with them? I know they are several different types that the Cummins crowd uses and they can make a big HP change.
