The gt2256v on the 220cdi just died, oil starvation due to the mounting bolts loosening. Need to find a replacement turbo for it. I have been looking at the gtb2260vklr, would it be a good fit or is there a better and cheaper turbo out there?

Sorry for the long delay in answering this post. Thanks for the pointers. The modifications so far, 1. changed the original injectors to the AMG type nozzle. 2. changed the intercooler to lower the blockage and better cooling 3. blocked the EGR by making an aluminum cork for the egr cooler connectin...

Maximum safe boost for om646.

Hi again. What is the safe maximum boost that i can run with stock old 650k km headstuds and stock internals? I qas thinking of changing the map sensor to the 3 bar boost and boosting to 2.5 bar. Is this possible?

Changed the intercooler ( chargecooler ) to a larger Japanese greddy. The difference is night and day!!! The 270cdi come with airmatic which has been converted to normal springs and shocks. If turned to 3rd position the Airmatic error pops up. Does this effect the dyno mode to not turn on?

If using the BM Star, where is the selection for the dyno mode?

Tuikku, tried the methods but none of them seems to work. Mine is a German spec 2003 wdb2110162a model. Is there anyone here that owns the same model and knows how to get the dyno mode?

. From a constant 646 -> ~200hp. No sense to change injectors, if you still have the orig. turbo. First cooler, turbo and map-sensor. From almost all of these streight-line-engines original injectors, it is possible to have ~50hp/cyl, if charger and cooler are suitable for that. It is not easy, but...

Am now in Penang and will dyno the car tomorrow, Monday. Will post the result if I can get the chart in softcopy. Am also going to get the egr deleted in software if possible. Next modification on the line is to change the injectors to AMG injectors. After that the intercooler needs looking at........

Thank you for the answer. I have heard rumours that the 5 cylinder engine is the weakest of the 64? family, is that true? In what way is the engine weak, crankshaft break, conrod break or some other problem?
